There are many different flavors of Doritos but the core essence of the chip remains the same. Ground corn, vegetable oil, and salt.

Then depending on the flavoring, different additives are then put on the chips to give them their individual flavor.

Can cats eat Doritos?

Yes, they are okay for them to nibble plain Doritos that are not hot and spicy.

But they are not a food that they should eat a lot of.

This is because of the high salt content of Doritos which is not good for them at all.

Too much salt will make a cat sick and will not be good for their insides.

Too much salt can produce sodium ionization poisoning plus excessive urination or thirst in cats.

It can also produce vomiting, diarrhea, increased body temperature, depression, tremors, seizures and occasionally death to a cat

Doritos also have no nutritional benefit for a cat as well.

Cats are carnivores and need a source of animal protein to survive which is why specialist cat food should be the main source of their diet.

If they were to nibble a Dorito they would be fine but it is not a good that should be purposely be fed to them.

What about hot varieties of Doritos?

Try and steer clear of these varieties of Doritos due to the spicy flavorings that they contain.

They are just too much for cats to handle and should be avoided.

Can Cats Drink Coffee?

can cats drink coffee

Coffee is a well known and loved brewed drink which is made from roasted coffee beans.

These beans are from the seeds of berries which are obtained from the coffea plant which comes from tropical Africa.

The plant has now been exported to countries all around the world and so coffee beans can be grown wherever the climate can be replicated.

There are now over 70 countries around the world where coffee beans are cultivated.

The two most commonly grown coffee berries are arabica and beans are roasted to varying degrees depending on what flavor is to be obtained as a result.

Once they are roasted they are then boiled in water to produce coffee as a drink.

The caffeine content of coffee can vary depending on the method of preparation and the type of coffee and the seed which is used.

The USDA National Nutrient Database reports that an 8-ounce (237 ml) cup of “coffee brewed from grounds” contains 95 mg caffeine, whereas an espresso (25 ml) contains 53 mg.

Today coffee is one of the most popular drinks in the world served in many forms and can be purchased already prepared or ready to make from supermarkets and grocery stores.

This makes it very accessible to an animal like a cat.

There may be an occasion where a cat might stumble upon a cup of coffee and have a drink of it.

Cups of coffee often get left around the home sometimes half drink making the tempting for a feline to check them out.

So is it okay for a cat to drink coffee?

Let’s check this out in a bit more detail.

Coffee contains the following nutrients

A typical 8oz (240 ml) cup of coffee contains (1):

  • Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin): 11% of the RDA.
  • Vit B5 (Pantothenic Acid): 6% of the RDA.
  • Vitamin B1 (Thiamin): 2% of the RDA.
  • Vitamin B3 (Niacin): 2% of the RDA.
  • Folate: 1% of the RDA.
  • Manganese: 3% of the RDA.
  • Potassium: 3% of the RDA.
  • Magnesium: 2% of the RDA.
  • Phosphorus: 1% of the RDA.

It also contains caffeine of course!

Caffeine is the most consumed psychoactive substance in the world.

It is found in chocolate, soft drinks, tea but it coffee contains the most amount of caffeine in these foods.

In a single cup of coffee, the caffeine content can range from

30-300 mg, but in the average cup of coffee the caffeine content is about  90-100 mg.

But what affect will caffeine have on cats?

Cats unfortunately cannot tolerate caffeine like we can.

In fact, it is toxic to them.

The way large amounts of caffeine can affect us can have an extreme effect on a cat.

However, there have been occasions where a cat may take a liking to it which is when action needs to be taken.

If you have noticed your cat has drunk coffee then ascertain how much they have drunk.

You may notice that it is not a lot then do monitor them for any detrimental effect on their health and well being.

If you notice a change then do consider taking them to a veterinarian to be checked out.

If they have consumed a lot then take them to a veterinarian straight away.

If they manage to nibble one they should be okay but do monitor them for any side effects and as mentioned above, take them to a veterinarian if their health takes a deterioration.

Can cats drink decaffeinated coffee?

Because decaffeinated coffee doesn’t caffeine then this makes it much better for cats than caffeinated coffee.

However, if they do drink decaffeinated coffee then bare in mind that coffee is still quite acidic in its nutrients so if they drink a lot of it , it still isn’t very good for them.

But if they have a little of it they will be fine. It is still.

It is not a good drink for them to have though and is defiantly not something to be purposely be fed to a cat.

Burpless cucumbers

Burpless cucumbers are sweet cucumbers and have a thin skin. They are easy to digest and have a pleasant taste and can grow as king as 2 feet plus they are nearly seedless with a delicate skin.
